Taking a photo every day has been challenging. Especially since I don’t take my camera everywhere, so the really important little moments I was hoping to capture are missed. Oh well, it is still a fun project! This week was the week of the cat – Harrison. He has a love for sitting in the window and eating bread. He tore open a back of hot dogs buns and made good progress eating them.
Our landlords, who live in the barn on the farm where we rent, are getting ready for their daughter’s wedding in April. The wedding will be here on the farm so folks have been busy planting, building stone walls and cleaning up debris from this winter’s ice storms.
We also recently discovered a new perk to living in a rural part of the country: you don’t need to write our address to mail us something! Now, others who live in the country may not think much of this, but I was very excited. It is like being the queen!

Have you been doing anything to plan for the even warmer weather to come?
You may recognize the pattern used in the background of these custom wedding invitations, I also use it in the EmilyInk logo. I created these invitations because I wanted something formal, but not stuffy. Each of these designs allow for a great deal of customization while still being simple and elegant. Here are a couple different font and color combinations:

My mother and I had a blast baking cupcakes for my bridal shower last year. There is just something about them and their adorableness that makes cupcakes even more yummy! Thinking about my own shower inspired me to make these custom cupcake bridal shower invitations:

I think they would also be cute for a birthday party, what do you think?
Our dog, Rooney, has been in desperate need of a haircut for some time. I have just been trimming his eyebrows here and there, but keeping everything else long because it has been so cold. He is a schnauzer/poodle/yorkie mix so I am not even sure how he is supposed to look. The hair on his head is different from the hair on his back which is different from the hair on his legs. He even has patches of head hair amongst his back hair. He is a mutt indeed.
Today it was 70 and sunny. With just two days of winter left, I decided to give Rooney a haircut. I am not very good. He is terrified of the electric clippers and is extremely jumpy. So, I end up hacking away at him with a combination of the clippers and scissors. I am hoping pratice makes perfect, this is attempt five or so (he is 11 months old).

Do you have any hair cutting advice for my dog and me?
I spent most of my free time during week three working on three paintings for my husband’s birthday. His loves the web comic, Penny Arcade. So, I took one of his favorite strips from the comic and made a triptic. The wording was definitely a huge challenge. The sun also came out last week and I hope for good! This winter was rough out here in the woods, so the warmth is welcomed with open arms.

Has spring arrived in your neck of the woods?
